Power Flushing is a process that forcibly cleanses a heating system using water at high volume but low pressure. With the addition of powerful cleansing and mobilising agents power flushing effectively dislodge sludge, rust and other debris within the central heating system.

We clean the central hearing system by connecting a power flush machine onto your central heating system, this is done by removing a radiator or where possible the central heating circulation pump is temporarily removed. A power flush pump is connected up to a powerful magnetic filter, then we commence the power flush pump. When the powerflush pump has been running we take measurement of the central heating water, check the PH level (acidity) and the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) level, then we begin adding the power flushing cleaning chemicals. Once the power flush cleaning chemicals have been circulated around the heating system we commence the powerflush process. All of the radiators in the property will be shut down, with the exception of one, this will then allow the individual radiator panels to be powerflushed one by one to ensure a deep clean of each radiator. Once we are happy that the radiator has been cleaned we will shut that radiator down and open the next. This allows us to give specific attention to any particular problem radiators.
We carry out temperature checks on each radiator as we go, so we know there is an even heat spread across the radiator. We keep a check on the magnetic filter to monitor the process. When we have finished power flushing all the radiators we open up the heating system and rinse out the dirty water and flush it through until we reach the PH and TDS level close to your tap water. This ensures that the central heating water is now nearly as clean as your tap water. When we are happy with the reading we then add the scale corrosion inhibitor, we carry on taking measurements so we know when we have added enough inhibitor. Then we will balance the radiators on the central heating system to ensure the heating system is set up correctly.

No if connection of the flushing pump is not possible via the heating pump then one radiator must be removed to provide the connections for the pump.
If the system is in a stable condition then no. The pumps we use create less pressure on the system than the pressure built up when your central heating pump is on.
YES - even older systems can be flushed as long as they’re in a stable condition.The system will be accessed before any advice is given as some systems will not benefit long term from powerflushing.
Yes microbore can be flushed but this size bore of the pipework reduces the pressure from the pump so we normally double dose the chemicals and spend a little more time flushing to achieve the same result as 15mm or 22mm pipework.
No all the chemicals we use cause no harm to your system or internal parts of your boiler and are safe to discard down your drain. No cleaning chemicals are left in the system only the final application of corrosion inhibitor.
After power flushing a quality 'corrosion inhibitor' will be introduced into the heating system to give long term protection against further corrosion and scaling.
